Brilliant stuff, again. The photos of Yan sleeping and the trio hiking forth struck me proper. Man, the giddiness and apprehension leaving Kennedy Meadow's was mad. Nothing like it. In 2019, I didn't enter the Sierras until June 23, I thiiiiiiink, and the snow levels seem almost identical to what your photos capture. Mad. You really never know how each year will play out.

Nice one sham. The section between Mathers and Muir was one of my favourites of the entire trail. Seriously? It must of been warmer though right? Oh for sure, such a buzz about Kennedy Meadows and that first day hiking into the Sierras.

“Vowed to never push a pair to 700 miles again” says the man who only used 4 pairs over the entire hike.

Was gutting to have left and not be part of the sierra crew.

These photos are awesome! Keen to see all of the rest of them

It was actually 5 pairs in the end.. but yeah how many did you get through again?

Thanks man. Does it look quite different to when you went through?

Technically 10, but I have princess feet.

The sierra wasn’t quite as beautiful but a lot easier!

Such a fantastic read ! I thought I was right there on the trail with you. Inspiring me to try it at some point, although I am reeeaaally not trained for something like this. Looking forward to read the next chapter!

Thanks Chiara, I can't recommend it enough! It wasn't the smartest time to head into the Sierras, I know people who went in 2-3 weeks after and didn't have to deal with any snow. Its pretty incredible how quickly it melts. Hope you do it one day!!
